Job SummaryYou will serve as a ELECTRICAL ENGINEER in the ENGINEERING AND PLANNING DEPARTMENT of Guam Detachment ofPEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

QualificationsGS-12: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Planning and providing electrical engineering support services for submarines; 2) Identifying, analyzing, and providing solutions/recommendations for electrical engineering problems; 3) Using best engineering practices to develop new methods and criteria where specific guidelines do not exist. GS-11: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing engineering electrical support services for submarines; 2) Identifying and analyzing electrical engineering problems; 3) Apply a wide variety of reference materials to modify or refine guidelines to resolve difficult issues. - OR - In lieu of the specialized experience listed above, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience (GS-11 ONLY): Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree OR A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent. Major DutiesYou will provide technical direction and quality control for electrical engineering requirements on surface ship/submarine electrical systems.You will provide guidance and assistance in the development of training programs to support accomplishment of non-nuclear work on surface ship and submarine electrical components.You will conduct engineering studies and research in support of short- and long-term engineering projects on assigned ships and submarines.You will conduct ship checks to support ship alterations and repairs to pertinent systems and components.You will liaise with production, operations, and logistics departments to resolve problems regarding work accomplishment.You will prepare technical work documents describing work to be performed in sufficient detail to support work operations.You will serve as the branch Pont of Contact for critiques, trouble reports, and technical response in the event of major incidents on an assigned ship.
