Job SummaryThe incumbent serves as an Engineering Technician in the Propulsion, Launchers, and Weapons Systems Branch of the In-Service Submarine Systems Engineering Division (SUB-E57) in TEAM SUBMARINE at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, D.C.

QualificationsYour resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band, NJ-03 (or GS-11 equivalency), in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as an Engineering Technician applying engineering principles, techniques and methods, to troubleshoot and determine operating problems and correct deficiencies, modify and improve test systems requirements and equipment for a submarine or undersea research and development weapons system. Major DutiesYou will be an Engineering Technician for In-Service Submarine Weapons Systems and Strategic Weapons Systems Support (SWSS).You will prepare for engagement with top management officials, in persuading users to accept new systems or equipment.You will trouble-shoot, analyze and determine operating problems, and recommend appropriate changes to correct deficiencies. Subsequently defines and negotiates analysis results with conflicting engineers, engineering technicians and managers.You will plan, manage, and coordinate, various engineering development programs that involve continuous systems modification, system requirement evaluation affecting In-Service Submarine Weapons Systems and SWSS systems.You will apply practical knowledge of advanced concepts, principles, and processes for life cycle engineering and management of in-service Submarine Weapons Systems and SWSS systems.
