QualificationsYou are eligible for this training opportunity if you are currently a permanent GS-0802-11 or GS-0802-12, Engineering Technician in UIC 42158 and meet the education requirements described below. Please Note: Appropriate documentation must be provided at time of application to support experience or educational requirements. Major DutiesYou will perform assigned portions of a major overhaul project under the cognizance of a senior graded Mechanical Engineer.You will coordinate one or more of the various Engineering processes applying a wide range of engineering theories, concepts, principles, standards, and methods.You will review engineering and production work to ensure that all requirements and safety concerns are met.You will coordinate, monitor, review, and integrate the efforts of engineers, consultants, quality control inspectors, mechanics and others who develop and implement work sequences and procedures.You will be required to conduct an engineering capstone research and design project or similar professional engineering work as designated by the Supervisor and endorsed by the Chief Engineer (Code 240).
