Job SummaryYou will serve as a Engineering Equipment Operator. The primary purpose of this position is to operate gasoline or diesel-powered engineering and construction heavy equipment to complete a variety of Service Projects. Small to medium land management and earth moving projects within applicable specs and requirements are generally short duration, low person hour, small team, maintenance or replacement projects. Major DutiesSome of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Operate a variety of types of heavy equipment to excavate, backfill, grade, or level earth to specifications on such projects like repairing and maintaining trails, roads, canals, tunnels, dykes and work on construction sites. Move earth on various terrain including moderate slopes, graded curves and shoulders, rocky or soft ground, vertical drop-offs (<10ft), forests, and other surfaces with similar rough features. Meet Service policy in operating and maintaining equipment. Make repairs to building and facility electrical systems such as lighting and power fixtures, wiring, fire or water alarm systems, and emergency power systems.RequirementsMust provide proof of U.S. citizenship. Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. Direct Deposit participation required. You will not be appointed to the position if a verified positive drug test is received. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license throughout employment. A uniform allowance will be provided. A physical examination will be required, or a statement regarding physical ability will need to be completed. You must maintain physical fitness standards throughout employment.
