Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Psychologist (band 4) to work within our Learning Disability Services, primarily the Adult's Community Team for People with Learning Disabilities, with some work in the children's team.
The successful candidate will work alongside experienced Clinical Psychologists, Trainee Psychologists, Community Nurses, Physiotherapists, Psychiatrists, SALT and Occupational Therapists.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will carry out a number of roles that contribute to the smooth running of the service, including
Support for clinical audit and research.
o Administrative support to on-going clinical service delivery and to specific projects. Contributing to individual and group clinical interventions.Individual therapeutic work with clients and their families
o Assessments of cognitive functioning and writing reports
Regular supervision will be offered by a qualified Clinical Psychologist along with opportunities to attend monthly journal club and peer supervision and fortnightly Psychology meetings and Children's/ Adults Team meetings. There is also a fantastic opportunity to network with Clinical Psychologists, assistant psychologists and trainees throughout the trust at the Psychological Professions Network (and the assistant psychologist group). These meetings also offer opportunities for continued professional development.

o The ability to both make appropriate use of supervision and to work autonomously when required
