We would love for you to join our compassionate and nurturing Medicines Management Team.An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our highly supportive inpatient team as a Clinical Mental Health Pharmacist.The post is based across the two sites of Ormskirk District General Hospital and Chorley District Hospital, covering a range of mental health wards, including a psychiatric intensive care unit and acute adult mental health wards.

Main duties of the job

Hospital/mental health experience is desirable but not essential, we offer an award-winning in-house training programme designed to support the successful candidate in developing the necessary skills and confidence for the role.There may be opportunities for further development, including the Aston University distance-learning Postgraduate Certificate in Psychiatric Therapeutics (accredited by the College of Mental Health Pharmacy).Additionally we provide access to other courses and training events to support your ongoing clinical, professional, and personal development. If any of these apply, this band 6 to 7 progression role could be the perfect opportunity for youThe post will provide opportunities for the following:o Pharmaceutical care planning and clinical review of prescriptionso Involvement in multidisciplinary ward roundso Provision of medicines information to service users and staffo Opportunity to experience pharmacy practice across inpatient services and community teamso Supporting the development of robust medicines management processeso Actively working to deliver the Trust medicines optimisation strategyo Ensuring compliance with GPhC standards for dispensingo Clinical auditLSCFT has fully implemented electronic prescribing and medicines administration systems across all inpatient settings.Due to the location of various units, an ability and willingness to travel around Trust locations is required. There is no requirement to work bank holidays or weekends.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Masters degree in Pharmacy Registration with General Pharmaceutical Council Evidence of and commitment to Continuing Professional Development

Knowledge Essential

Ability to maintain and develop professional relationships Recognises personal limitations Ability to work alone

Experience Essential

Variety of clinical pharmacy experience Working in a hospital or community pharmacy Awareness of current issues affecting the practice of pharmacy

Skills Essential

Demonstrates a clear preference for mental health pharmacy Projects a positive and professional image Self-motivated
