GENERAL DESCRIPTION The Physio Aide is a key non-professional support staff member responsible for assisting the professional therapists in providing effective patient care and maintaining the clinical environment. The primary objective is to ensure the services area, equipment, and aids are clean, safe, and readily available for use, thereby contributing to the smooth and safe operation of the Rehabilitation Services.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Main Responsibility 1.Carry out all duties delegated by the Head of Service in support of physiotherapists and other rehabilitation professionals. 2.Assist physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists in treatment procedures, including preparing patients, setting up equipment, and ensuring smooth clinical operations. 3.Prepare patients for hydrotherapy/therapeutic pool sessions and ensure safety protocols are followed throughout the process. 4.Transport and assist patients safely with mobility, transfers, and movement in and out of wheelchairs and treatment areas. 5.Maintain the cleanliness, safety, infection control measures and organization of treatment cubicles, gym areas, therapy zones, and all rehabilitation spaces including cleanliness of the medical devices. 6.Ensure all rehabilitation equipment, appliances, and aids are clean, properly maintained, serviced when necessary, and ready for use. 7.Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, updates, reminders, and communication through phone calls and emails. 8.Update appointment calendars, patient lists, health tourism rehabilitation records, and ensure accurate monthly reporting of data, statistics, and revenue. 9.Ensure accurate billing and invoicing, follow up on outstanding cases, and coordinate with finance or relevant parties for timely payment collection. 10.Receive, dispatch, file, and record all documents related to rehabilitation services while maintaining accurate and updated patient information. 11.Report any incidents or accidents involving patients or family members immediately and assist in corrective action planning and implementation. 12.Comply with the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 and services safety standards while guiding junior staff on proper safety practices. 13.Monitor and update inventory lists regularly, reporting low stock or damaged items to the Head of Service for timely replenishment. 14.Assist in preparing official letters, referral documents, and communication with doctors, external agencies, and stakeholders when required. 15.Support services operations through continuous improvement initiatives, effective teamwork, adherence to schedules and rotations, and identifying opportunities to enhance service quality.
