Job summary The Night Care Assistant plays a vital role in providing safe, compassionate, and person-centred care to residents throughout the night within Jewish Care's residential and nursing homes. Working 12-hour night shifts on a rota basis, the postholder will support older people, including those living with dementia and complex care needs, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and wellbeing at all times. Responsibilities include assisting with personal care, supporting mobility, responding to call bells, carrying out regular welfare checks, administering medication where trained, maintaining accurate care records, and providing reassurance and companionship. Working closely with colleagues, the Night Care Assistant helps create a calm, safe, and supportive environment while ensuring residents receive high-quality care that promotes independence and quality of life.
Main duties of the job We are looking for a caring and dedicated Night Care Assistant to join our friendly care team. You will provide high-quality overnight support to residents, helping with personal care, medication where trained, wellbeing checks, and responding to individual needs with kindness and compassion. Working as part of a supportive team, you will help create a safe, comfortable, and reassuring environment where residents feel valued and respected throughout the night. As a Care Assistant, youll support residents with daily living, from personal care to mealtimes and activities, always taking a person-centred approach. Youll get to know each resident as an individualwhat matters to them, what makes them smileand tailor your support to help them live well.
