Overview

We are seeking an experienced GP Practice Nurse to join our friendly and experienced nursing team. Working hours and pattern negotiable. PLEASE NOTE: ONLY APPLICANTS WITH A MINIMUM OF 2 YEARS EXPERIENCE WORKING IN GENERAL PRACTICE SHOULD APPLY.

Applications are welcomed from experienced Practice Nurses. This post is also suitable for an experienced community / acute nurse looking to transition into Practice Nursing as further training is available.

We are a well-established training practice and further training is available to the right candidate.

Main duties of the job

Duties

Dressings and wound care to include suture removal. Administer IM injection and vaccinations under PGDs. Cervical smear tests (training available). Monitor and manage long term conditions, providing education and support to patients. Collaborate with doctors and other healthcare professionals to develop patient care plans. Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with confidentiality regulations. Provide health education to patients and their families regarding disease prevention and health promotion. Monitor stock levels and support with ordering. Ensure the practice environment is clean, safe, and well-organised.

Monitor stock levels and support with ordering. Ensure the practice environment is clean, safe, and well-organised. Keeping patient records up to date; Checking a patients temperature, pulse and blood pressure correctly; Working alongside and communicating regularly with practice GPs, nurses, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Registered Nurse with the NMC BSc in Nursing

Desirable

Practice nurse training Independent prescriber

Experience Essential

Experience of working within a nursing team Experience of administering IM injections Experience of dressings and wound care Minimum of two years experience working in general practice

Desirable

Experience of working with long term conditions
