Salary: £60,000 - 60,000 per year
Requirements: Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.Proven expertise in embedded software development, specifically in C and assembler.Extensive experience in safety-critical systems within the aerospace or similar sectors.Hands-on experience with RTOS environments, preferably FreeRTOS or similar.Strong understanding of hardware architecture, including ARM Cortex processors.Knowledge of safety standards such as DO-178B/C and IEC 61508.Familiarity with software configuration management and development lifecycle processes.Experience working with multicore processor architectures.Knowledge of networking protocols like TCP/IP and UDP.Experience in embedded security practices.Familiarity with MIPS or PowerPC architectures.Awareness of compliance requirements in the aerospace industry.Prior involvement in international projects or teams. Responsibilities: Develop and maintain embedded software solutions for aerospace hardware platforms.Port existing real-time operating systems to new processor architectures.Write high-quality, optimised code in C and assembler for safety-critical systems.Conduct rigorous testing and validation in line with industry standards.Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to meet project requirements.Produce comprehensive technical documentation for design and testing processes.Ensure all development aligns with relevant safety and quality standards such as DO-178C.
