About this role

Job summary

The Pharmacy Service is comprehensive, and we have a full range of services including Inpatient and Outpatient dispensary service, ward-based clinical pharmacy, Medicines Information, aseptic and non-sterile production services. Specialist clinical pharmacists provide direct clinical input into medicines management in several clinical areas including HIV, general medicine, emergency services, surgery, rheumatology, anti-coagulation, oncology & haematology, women's health, paediatrics and infection control.

The post holder will ensure that Production services are delivered in a safe, effective, economic and timely manner ensuring that all procedures are carried out in accordance with current legislation and guidelines and undertake preparations in all areas of the Production unit.

Main duties of the job

Computer literate Word, Excel, Powerpoint.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills -Ability to deal directly with public & other health service professionals.

Ability to work in certain posture for prolonged period of time, e.g., sitting upright to prepare drugs in an isolator.

Effective organizational skills.

Ability to communicate complex, contentious and sensitive information.

Time management of self.

Able to respond to unpredictable work patterns.

Able to manage own workload.

Able to work accurately within the departmental SOP's to maintain quality standards.

Able to prioritise workload effectively.

Demonstrate excellent Work Ethics.

Enthusiastic and shows initiative.

Good attendance record and good time keeping.

Qualifications Essential

4 GCSE's Grade A-C to include English, Maths, Science NVQ level 2 Pharmacy services NVQ level 2 Pharmacy services
