We're looking for a Financial Services Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Financial Services team, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across accounts payable/receivable, treasury management, and statutory reporting.

In this pivotal role, you'll:

Main duties of the job

The Financial Services Manager will :-

Manage the day-to-day operation of the Trusts Financial Services section, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of all receipts and payments, managed within the available cash resources and in accordance with the Trust Corporate Governance Framework Provide a full range of technical accounting services to enable high quality internal and external financial reporting and effective balance sheet and resource management, including cash management, capital management, VAT returns and taxation expertise. Provide significant support to the preparation of the Annual Accounts, Subsidiary Accounts, Charity accounts and auditor support. Provide advice to staff, managers, budget and Directorate managers on complex financial and tax matters to ensure the Trust is compliant with legislation and financial governance and the organisation run economically, efficiently and effectively.

Person Specification

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS Essential

oDegree level qualification. oCCAB/CIMA qualified accountant. oEvidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD)

Desirable

oLean qualification (or prepared to work towards) such as NETS,LEAN.

KNOWLEDGE Essential

oIn depth knowledge of financial accounting procedures, NHS finance policies, DoH Managing Public Money and NHS legislation. oExpert knowledge of financial services provision oDetailed knowledge of HMRC VAT rules as applicable to the NHS oDetailed knowledge of tax regulations as applicable to the NHS

Desirable

oAble to develop knowledge of accounting for subsidiary companies applying appropriate legislation and HMRC rules to decision making. oKnowledge of the statutory accounting regulations applicable to NHS bodies and Charitable Funds.

EXPERIENCE Essential

oExperience of operating within a financial accounting environment oExtensive experience of managing staff including all aspects of recruitment, performance appraisal, discipline and termination of employment.

Key Skills Essential

oAbility to communicate with staff at all levels over a range of subject matter and specifically finance related matters which can often be very complex and sensitive. oExcellent presentational skills for conveying complex concepts and information. oDeveloped customer service skills and business acumen oAbility to motivate and manage a team effectively whilst maintaining confidentiality and to deal with situations in a sensitive and empathetic manner. oAbility to build effective networks and partnerships. oParticipative approach to change management and leadership. oAbility to collect information and present highly complex information both verbally and written e.g. management reports in a manner that can be understood by non technical staff. oDemonstrable developed IT skills, competent in the use of finance systems such as ORACLE, as well as Windows XP, Microsoft Word and Excel.
