Post: Diagnostics Administration Assistant

Pay:£13 per hour

Hours:Full time 37.5 hours (Monday to Friday)

Accountable to:Head of Diagnostics

Reports to: Service coordinators

Base:Newfield House, Vicarage Lane, Blackpool, FY4 4EW

Main duties of the job

Overview of Role:

To work as part of a team providing a full administrative service to ensure the smooth operation of community based diagnostic clinics.

This will involve dealing with referrals, booking new and follow up appointments, tracking patients through the system, recording data to monitor access times and the maintaining of accurate records of clinics on the computerised Patient Administration Systems.

To provide additional administrative support within the company as required.

Job description

Managing patient referrals and diagnostic bookings.

Scheduling, amending, and cancelling appointments.

Maintaining accurate patient records on clinical systems e.g. S1, EMIS

Data entry and validation to ensure information is accurate and up to date.

Processing correspondence, reports, and clinical documentation.

Filing and maintaining confidential records in line with GDPR and NHS information governance requirements.

Answering telephone calls and responding to patient enquiries.

Communicating appointment details, preparation instructions, and follow-up information.

Providing a professional and empathetic service to patients attending diagnostic services.

Liaising with patients regarding appointment changes or service updates.

Managing shared inboxes and responding to routine enquiries.

Supporting rota coordination and clinic administration.

Assisting with general office administration tasks and document preparation.

Experience with S1, EMIS, SESUI, e-RS. Information Governance understanding and awareness. Experience within a healthcare environment Experience of clinical systems Clinical governance understanding and awareness
