Job Purpose/Objective Provide support to Business Unit, to continuously improve terminal operations and make them more efficient, cost effective and customer-centric Develop, direct and implement BU operational strategic direction in line with the GOE pillars.

The main responsibility of this role is owning (alongside CEO/COO) the execution and alignment of Ports & Terminals Lean Business System (LBS) across business unit. The LBS program is a strategic transformation initiative to drive process standardization, collaboration and improvement behaviors and tools across DPW Operations, Engineering and HSSE. These activities are related to the successful implementation of lean problem-solving capabilities, process standardization, improvement initiatives, performance, and operational daily management systems, including the development of new ways to collaborate more effectively and efficiently
Key responsibilities Operational Excellence & Process Improvement:
• Driving cultural change and embedding lean principles into leadership frameworks, shaping long-term operational strategies to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Positively coach, influence and actively manage leadership behavioral change according to the principles and practices developed in the LBS program
• Coordinate and drive the local implementation of the LBS elements, including Process Standardization, Daily Management, Lean Academy and Problem Solving/ Improvement activities (Kaizens)
• Take ownership of local implementation activities using defined tools and methodologies where applicable and ensure ongoing coordination of local resources involved in corporation with the BU management.
• Collaborating with regional and global leadership teams to align LBS strategies with business objectives.
• Influencing C-level leaders to ensure long-term integration of lean principles into organizational culture
• Accountable for achieving significant performance improvements, operational excellence, and financial results, and ensuring the delivery of impactful, sustainable results through the LBS program
• Ensure the sustainable implementation of improvements from Daily Management and Strategic Kaizen activities
• Develop and execute a multi-year strategic roadmap to mature LBS initiatives and ensure sustainable improvements.
• Leverage data-driven insights to track performance, optimize operations, and guide continuous improvement initiatives, and foster innovation in lean methodologies to ensure the business is future-proofed

• Build a strong team (where necessary) by attracting & retaining talent, leading, coaching, mentoring & supporting all direct reports, and recommend their remuneration.
• Create an environment that is supportive of learning, training and developing team’s competencies. Must be able to convey feedback in a positive or constructive way.
• Drive, recognize and reward BU team’s process improvement performance, providing them with guidance for further improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
Skills and Competencies
• At least 5-8 years of experience in lean training or a Continuous Improvement deployment role
• Open and embracing of change and change management.
• Lean, Six Sigma and/or Project Management certification
• Good presentation and facilitation skills
• Ability to challenge, mentor and coach senior leaders
• Strong change management and interpersonal skills, able to focus on business impact and change in behavior for the new ways of working and thinking
• Ability to drive implementation of new processes and support the organizational changes
• Ability to communicate at all levels across the local organization and guide them toward the local achievements
• Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills
• Good workshop facilitation skills, with the ability to adapt to local cultural differences
• Results driven with a strong analytical and problem-solving skill set
• Open minded, positive attitude and high drive to succeed and break through barriers
• Ability to perceive situations from different perspectives
• Clear, persuasive and collaborative communication & influencing skills
• Proactively addressing problems jointly with stakeholders before they grow acute
• Experience with working in virtual project team and working with external consultants is also preferred
