Job summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Colposcopy Nurse to join our Women's Health Services team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled practitioner to provide expert nursing care within a busy and progressive colposcopy service.
The successful candidate will work autonomously and collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to women undergoing assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up for cervical abnormalities. The post holder will play a key role in supporting service development, maintaining clinical standards, and enhancing the patient experience.
Main duties of the job
Provide specialist nursing care within the colposcopy service. Undertake comprehensive patient assessment, counselling, and support. Perform colposcopy procedures and treatments within agreed competencies and scope of practice. Deliver nurse-led clinics and contribute to service efficiency and innovation. Act as an advocate for patients, ensuring informed decision-making and personalised care. Participate in audit, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical governance activities. Support education and training of nursing, medical, and allied health professionals. Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to data collection and reporting requirements. Ensure compliance with national guidelines and local policies.
