Job Description: We are seeking the next generation of helicopter engineers and invite those with a passion for engineering, aviation and hands-on problem solving to apply for this exciting opportunity.
Our Strategic Plan and focus on developing our future team identifies a key requirement for recruiting engineer apprentices in order to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery to our customers. Bristow Helicopters is opening recruitment for six apprenticeships which will provide extensive training over a 36 month period after which you will be employed in one of our operations. Bristow Helicopters is committed to providing an innovative training and development package to bring you in to front-line helicopter maintenance.
This apprenticeship provides a structured pathway into the aviation industry, combining practical, on-the-job training with formal technical education. You will gain the knowledge, skills, and experience required to become a qualified helicopter engineer, working on some of the most advanced aircraft systems. Helicopter engineers play a vital role in maintaining, servicing, and repairing aircraft to ensure they meet strict safety and regulatory standards. Principal Responsibilities: As an apprentice, you will:
• Assist with inspection, maintenance, and repair of helicopters; • Learn on the job how to resolve mechanical and avionics faults; • Work with experienced engineers on scheduled servicing and safety checks; • Support day-to-day hangar operations and aircraft movement; • Complete structured training, coursework, and technical qualifications; • Maintain accurate engineering records and documentation.
What You Will Gain:
• Level 3 Apprenticeship Completion Certificate and the vital academic and practical foundation needed to apply for a UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Part-66 Category A3 (Helicopters) Licence; • Hands-on aviation experience alongside expert mentors; • Opportunity to progress towards a UK CAA Part-66 Engineering Licence; • A clear career pathway in the aerospace and aviation sector; • Ongoing development and potential full-time employment upon completion.

Person Specification: (minimum education requirements, key skills, and experience) Qualifications:
• Four National 5 qualifications, GCSEs, Highers, or equivalent qualifications (including English, Mathematics and a Science-based subject) at Grade A–B (or equivalent).
Experience:
• Previous hands-on or mechanical experience; • A genuine interest in engineering and aviation; • Participation in STEM related projects / groups
