About this role

Job summary

You may be required to work in other designated locations of theTrust as well as your primary base. In particular, flexibility isrequired across the three main hospital sites (Leicester RoyalInfirmary, Leicester General Hospital and Glenfield Hospital). Ifyour initial location is one of these sites excess travelreimbursement would not apply for a permanent or temporarychange of base.

Main duties of the job

The role of Domestic Team Leader is a multi-skilled role which involves the monitoring of the domestic staff whilst they carry out their cleaning duties within designated patient and non-patient areas within the Trust.The post holder will maintain good working relationships with;Work colleagues throughout the TrustDomestic TeamDomestic and Facilities managersWard and department clinical teamsPatients and the general public

Job description Job responsibilities

Display a high standard of personal hygiene and presentation and demonstrate good hygiene practices.

Observe confidentiality of patients and employing trusts business at all times.

Operational checks, processes and policies are adhered to within department.

Communicate and liaise effectively with work Colleagues, Managers and with Clinical Teams accordance with Trust values.

Monitoring the team ensuring they are working safely when undertaking their duties.

Complete a daily handover ensuring that accurate, detailed information is communicated to the team and your Domestic Manager.

Undertake scheduled cleaning audits using a hand held electronic monitoring (Credits for Cleaning) C4C system, ensuring rectifications are completed within the specified time scales.

Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the work area, adhering to Trust policies and procedures.

Experience Essential

Able to carry out instructions and duties as detailed in the job description. Having or Willingness to work towards achieving: NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in cleaning and support services Level 3 in Food Safety. Record keeping both manual and electronic

Desirable

Previous experience of working within a healthcare environment. Previous experience of working in a supervisory role

Have a good standard of the English language both written and oral communication skills Ability to work as part of a team or on own initiative. Able to prioritise tasks, achieving deadlines and under pressure
