Job summary
We are seeking experienced Theatre Practitioners to join our team atMelton Mowbray Hospital, part ofUniversity Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust.
We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. You will join an established and supportive theatre team, with opportunities to develop new skills while consolidating your existing knowledge and experience within a strong, collaborative working environment.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, patients, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
You will be well organised, adaptable, and able to respond flexibly to the needs of the service. A flexible approach to working is essential.
A full UK driving licence and access to transport are required, as you will be expected to work across Community Day Surgery sites to support service delivery when required.
We regret that we are unable to offer sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa route, as the salary for the part-time hours does not meet the required threshold for Skilled Worker criteria.
Main duties of the job
Working as part of our Day Surgery Team you will you will care for patients accessing our service for elective Day Surgery procedures. Our current specialties include General Surgery, Plastics, vascular and Podiatric surgery. The patients journey is all managed in one area and will include admission and preparation for theatre, the perioperative journey and 1st and 2nd stage recovery including discharge. Job description Job responsibilities
To co-ordinate and provide skilled clinical practice (without direct supervision) to patients, in accordance with responsibilities under NMC/HCPC Code of Conduct.
To contribute to the continued development of Nurses/Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs), including the supervision of junior nurses/ODPs and support staff.
Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of evidenced-based clinical care to a group of patients.
Assist and contribute to the management and organisation of a theatre or unit
Actively contribute to setting and maintaining high standards of quality nursing/ODP care.
Actively participate in the education, development and supervision of other staff members.
Act as a clinical and professional role model, mentoring, assessing and supporting students and learners on placement within the clinical area.
Work collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families

Experience Essential
Demonstrates satisfactory clinical expertise for the grade applied for.
Desirable
