Job summary
The Finance Department of the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking an experienced AAT Level 4 Qualified Management Accountant who is looking to further develop their skills in a complex and rewarding NHS finance environment.
This is a generic job role across the sections of financial management, financial services, costing, income and capital. This is a full-time post working 37.5 hours per week, working within the Management Accounts - Corporate and Women & Children Team.
The post holder will work closely with Finance Managers, Deputy Finance Managers and operational budget holders to provide high quality financial information that supports budget planning, forecasting, business planning and decision making across the Corporate and Women and Children Divisions.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for producing detailed monthly management accounts, budget monitoring reports and forecasts to support operational and strategic decision making.
They will work with budget holders to identify financial risks and opportunities, analysing complex financial data and presenting information clearly for finance and non-finance audiences.
You will bring excellent financial management skills and will have experience of working in teams to deliver successful and measurable outcomes. With good negotiation skills and leadership skills, you will have the ability to help deliver change and improvements across numerous work streams.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Association of Accounting Technicians AAT Level 4 or equivalent experience to degree level
Desirable
Working towards membership of an accountancy body which is a member of the Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies (CCAB) or CIMA
Experience Essential
Previous experience working in a Finance Department Basic knowledge of health service financial management and the use of information across the NHS Understanding of Budget/Costing Management, setting, monitoring, reporting and forecasting Experience of presenting information in numerous formats

Practical and Intellectual Skills Essential
Evidence of sound communication skills with non-financial managers on financial information Well organised and able to work as a member of a team.
