About this role
• Responsible for safety & discipline in work area • Carry out electrical maintenance, fault finding and monitoring of the cranes and other related equipment and carry out the tasks assigned by Supervisor. • Ensure maximum operational availability of cranes by diagnostic work and repair methods. • Submit routine inspection and monitoring reports as required. • Carry out duties independently when called out and report breakdowns and faults. • Assume additional responsibility for crane maintenance in the absence of Supervisor. • Ensure that emergency work is followed up by reporting to Supervisor. • Ensure work practice conforms to safety regulations and procedures. • Ensure that all preventive maintenance (Electrical) is conducted as defined in the system. • Attend breakdowns as reported by Planning & Admin Clerk on immediate basis. • Ensure accurate, up to date information is provided in the work order for input into the system. • Ensure that work order is generated (in coordination with planning clerk) for all electrical work performed on the cranes • Submit correct information about start time and end time of maintenance activity. Conduct maintenance activities as per defined timelines • Obtain approval of supervisor before making purchase requisition and submitting to stores • Ensures tidiness and cleanliness of workshop facilities and all equipment for which his team is responsible.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
• Experience in container in seaport and/ or heavy equipment environment • Mandatory: 1 to 3 years of effective experience (being on field)
• Education: DEGREE IN ELECRTICAL ENGINEERING • Preferable experience in working on heavy equipment in ports, mining, steel industries • Ability to work on heights, knowledge about lifting chain and ropes • Detailed knowledge of a wide range of electrical equipment, diesel engines, transmissions, pneumatic & hydraulic systems, brakes etc. Conversant with technical/ parts manuals, and drawings. • Fully conversant with safety procedures RECRUITMENT OFFICER José Munde [email protected]
