Salary: £30,500 - 104,500 per year
Requirements: 3+ years of commercial experience in PHP development.Strong experience with PHP 7.4, including CakePHP, and PHP 8+ with Laravel or Symfony.Experience building backend systems and APIs.Strong knowledge of MySQL, including query writing and performance optimisation.Working knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS.Experience with Git, branching workflows, and pull requests.Familiarity with Docker and Linux or WSL environments.Experience with unit testing and automated testing practices.Understanding of software design principles and coding standards.Exposure to Vue.js, Nuxt, Azure, CI/CD pipelines, messaging technologies, or microservices is beneficial. Responsibilities: Develop and maintain backend systems using PHP, including Laravel and CakePHP.Deliver features end to end, including development, testing, and deployment.Enhance existing applications, including legacy CakePHP systems.Build and maintain APIs and backend services.Write clean, maintainable code following development standards and best practices.Contribute to code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD processes.Support system design, integrations, and technical improvements.Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with wider technology teams.Identify opportunities to improve performance, scalability, and reduce technical debt.
