Requirements: We require SC clearance.We require proven experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role.We require strong experience with one or more of the following: Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL.We require experience with database performance tuning and optimisation.We require knowledge of backup, recovery, replication, and high-availability technologies.We require understanding of database security, permissions, auditing, and compliance.We require experience troubleshooting complex database issues.We require strong communication and stakeholder management skills.Desirable: cloud database experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP.Desirable: relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional or Microsoft certifications.Desirable: experience working within enterprise-scale environments. Responsibilities: We install, configure, maintain, and upgrade database management systems.We monitor database performance and proactively resolve issues.We perform regular database backups and ensure recovery procedures are tested and effective.We implement and maintain database security controls and access management.We optimise database structures, indexing, and queries for maximum performance.We support high-availability, replication, and disaster recovery solutions.We collaborate with development teams to improve application performance and database usage.We produce and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and standards.We support capacity planning and recommend future database improvements. We are a well-known consultancy offering an initial 6-month contract for a Database Administrator role based in Telford with 2 days on site per week. The position is inside IR35 and pays up to £447.50 per day.
