Requirements: 6–10 years of experience in telecom, data communication, or network infrastructureExperience in an industrial or plant environment is preferredStrong hands-on experience with fibre optics, LAN/WAN, and SCADA networksExperience with CCTV, access control, and alarm systemsExperience with telemetry, microwave, and modem communicationsExperience in cable jointing and terminationKnowledge of ATEX compliance and industrial safety standardsStrong troubleshooting skills across multi-technology systemsDiploma or degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, IT, or Electrical EngineeringRelevant certifications are preferred, including CCNA or other network certifications, fibre optic certification, and Health & Safety / ATEX awareness Responsibilities: Install, terminate, test, and commission single-mode and multi-mode fibre optic cablesPerform fibre splicing and OTDR testingDiagnose and resolve fibre faults, including attenuation loss, breaks, and connectivity issuesMaintain optic links for DCS LAN, SCADA systems, CCTV, and telecom networksCarry out fibre route planning, cable laying, documentation, labeling, and patch panel maintenanceSupport fibre infrastructure upgrades, expansions, preventive maintenance, and inspectionsManage Business LAN and Process LAN shifts to ensure continuous plant connectivityHandle telephone installations, moves, and first- and second-line fault resolutionMaintain and troubleshoot site telephony systems, including mini exchange systems, fax machines, and ADSL connectivityInstall, configure, and maintain fibre optic networks, SCADA LAN and modem links, telemetry point-to-point modem links, and microwave communication systemsImplement and maintain site-wide Wi-Fi infrastructure and manage third-party networks and servicesMaintain and repair CCTV, access control, intercom, fire alarm, VESDA, smoke detection, SUCS, sirens, and related control systemsDeliver communication infrastructure projects, office setups, shutdown installations, and video conferencing supportMaintain cable management systems, stock records, and documentationProvide 24/7 on-call support on a rota basis for telecom, radio, and CCTV systemsCoordinate and supervise third-party vendors during site visits and ensure compliance with site standards and safety protocols Technologies: SupportLANNetworkDevOpsSecurity More:

We are partnering with a leading technology organisation that supports enterprises in accelerating digital transformation through innovative IT services, data engineering, and advanced technology solutions. This is a 12-month contract based in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, with on-site attendance required three days per week. The role is outside IR35 and offers a rate of £280 per day.
