Salary: £85,000 - 100,000 per year
Requirements: We are looking for an experienced Software Architect, Application Architect, Principal Engineer or senior technical leader.We need strong software engineering knowledge combined with architecture and technical leadership experience.We want someone comfortable operating strategically while staying close to the technology and guiding development teams and technical decisions.Experience in software, application or solutions architecture.Experience designing and modernising complex customer-facing applications.Experience with software transformation or application rebuild programmes.Strong understanding of modern software development and architecture.Experience with microservices and service-oriented architectures.Experience with APIs, integration patterns and third-party services.Experience with C#, .NET, JavaScript and/or Python.Experience with SQL, data integration and enterprise data systems.Experience with cloud-native architecture and modern engineering practices.Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD.Experience leading software development teams.Experience with AI, LLMs or agentic AI would be highly valuable, especially where AI has been applied to real business or customer solutions. Responsibilities: We will work closely with the CTO to review the existing software and application landscape.We will lead the future design, rebuild and modernisation of customer-facing technology solutions.We will assess existing solutions, identify what is working and what needs to change, and define a modern technology architecture for future growth.We may rebuild applications, improve integrations, consolidate systems and introduce new technologies where they deliver genuine business value.We will provide technical leadership and guide development teams and technical decisions.We will help shape the next stage of our technology transformation.
