Salary: £54,000 - 58,000 per year
Requirements: We require a PhD in Physics, Astrophysics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or another highly quantitative discipline.We require strong knowledge of Bayesian statistics and probabilistic modelling.We require advanced Python programming skills.We require experience with Git and software development best practices.We require excellent analytical, mathematical and problem-solving skills.We prefer 1 to 2 years of industry experience in a relevant data science, research or modelling role.We prefer experience in machine learning, optimisation or scientific computing.We prefer knowledge of Fortran, C or C++.We prefer experience working with large, complex or high-dimensional datasets. Responsibilities: We develop and deliver advanced data science, sampling and machine learning solutions.We apply Bayesian inference and statistical modelling to complex scientific and industrial challenges.We build robust, well-tested code and clear technical documentation.We work with proprietary Bayesian data science tools and use modern LLM and GPT-based tools to enhance and accelerate our workflow.We explore new models, methods and technologies, applying them where they add genuine value.We contribute to the development of our core scientific and technical capabilities.We collaborate with clients, research partners and internal technical teams.We take part in regular research workshops with leading academic collaborators. Based in Herne Hill, South London, we offer a hybrid and flexible working setup with a minimum of 1 day per week in the office. You will join a highly technical, collaborative, research-driven team working on cutting-edge research and commercial data science projects across sustainable industry, molecular discovery, optimisation and predictive modelling.
