About this role

Job summary

We are a large training practice looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Practice Nurse to join our existing nursing team to work 16 -20 hours per week.

Experience of working in a General Practice environment, managing chronic diseases, including Respiratory and Diabetes is an advantage.

All applicants must have a valid UK NMC Pin number and be eligible to work in the UK.

Main duties of the job

Deliver a range of nursing services including health assessments, screening, treatment, chronic disease management, vaccinations and immunisations. Provide health promotion, patient education and advice on minor illnesses. Undertake cervical screening, wound care, dressings and specimen collection, including phlebotomy where appropriately trained. Maintain accurate and timely clinical records using the practice's electronic patient record system. Ensure clinical equipment and treatment rooms are maintained to a high standard and that stock levels are monitored. Support infection prevention and control, safeguarding, and health and safety policies. Participate in clinical audits, team meetings and quality improvement initiatives. Work collaboratively with GPs and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective and patient-centred care.

We have created a supportive, learning environment where we train and teach a new generation of clinicians, that include medical students, nurses, pharmacists & GP trainees as well as other health care professionals. We are an accredited undergraduate and postgraduate training practice with highly experienced trainers.

We provide standard medical services complemented by our child health, womens health, family planning, minor surgery & travel clinics.

Knowledge and skills Desirable

DOCMAN

Qualifications Essential

Registered Nurse with a current NMC registration. Experience in chronic disease management, vaccinations and immunisations, cervical screening, and health promotion. Excellent communication, organisational and IT skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable

Previous experience working in general practice or primary care is desirable. Phlebotomy skills are desirable.
