Job summary This position exists to provide hands-on programme management for the Northants New Care Models Innovator. The postholder will help turn an operationally complex programme into a controlled, deliverable workstream, with clear governance, disciplined follow-through, timely escalation of issues, and strong coordination across practices, stakeholders and internal teams.
Main duties of the job
Lead day-to-day programme coordination across the Northants New Care Models Innovator, covering Part B Same Day Access and Part B Complex Care. Develop and maintain practical delivery plans, milestones, dependencies and implementation trackers that reflect the real state of the programme. Bring structure to meetings and workstreams by setting agendas, capturing actions, following through on commitments and making sure decisions are translated into delivery. Act as a central coordination point between practices, programme leads, clinicians, managers and support functions so that issues are surfaced early and resolved quickly. Support the Programme Director for New Care Models with governance, reporting, implementation planning and stakeholder management. Regular travel across PML sites and practices in Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire will be required.

Comfortable working at pace in ambiguous or fast-moving environments. Able to build credibility quickly with operational teams and senior stakeholders. Confident in holding actions, constructive challenge and following issues through to resolution. Calm, resilient and outcomes-focused, with the ability to keep delivery moving in difficult environments.
Experience Essential
Significant experience working in Primary Care / General Practice settings. Strong practical programme or project management experience, ideally in live service change, implementation or transformation work. Experience working across multiple stakeholders, including practices, operational leaders and support functions. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear reports, updates and action-focused documentation. Previous Practice Manager experience, or equivalent operational management experience in Primary Care.
Desirable
Experience of working on service redesign, same day access, complex care or integrated care models.
