Job summary
We are seeking a Paediatric Physiotherapist to join our Community Health Service in Merton (30 hours per week).
You will deliver high-quality, responsive care to children and young people with a range of needs, including neurological, neurodevelopmental and coordination conditions, some with complex medical needs. Work will take place across clinics, mainstream schools, nurseries and children's homes.

Main duties of the job
o Hold responsibility for own caseload and undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner, while working as part of a teamo Carry out specialised assessments and treatments of paediatric conditions and treatment of children with a variety of conditions. This includes continuing risk assessment, manual therapy techniques and therapeutic handling requiring moderate but variable physical effort during sessionso Undertake a comprehensive assessment of paediatric patients including those with diverse or complex presentations of musculoskeletal pathologies; use advanced clinical reasoning skills and manual assessment techniques to provide an accurate diagnosis of their conditiono Use highly specialised clinical reasoning skills, knowledge of evidence-based practice and paediatric clinical expertise in determining appropriate care plans using specialist treatment skillso Interpret and analyse clinical and non-clinical data from assessments to form accurate diagnoses in a wide range of highly complex paediatric conditions, including interpretation of investigation results. Formulate accurate hypotheses and prognoses and recommend best course of intervention for individual treatment programmeso Provide specialist expertise for managing and treating paediatric patients with more complex neurological conditions and assist students, physiotherapists and specialist physiotherapists in achieving this

Qualifications Essential
Diploma or Degree in Physiotherapy Current HCPC registration Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Completed training in highly specialist clinical areas in Paediatric Physiotherapy
Desirable
Membership of the Association of Paediatric Chartered Physiotherapists Demonstrate evidence of interest in research at degree or masters level Post registration management qualification Evidence of ongoing post graduate training including clinical supervision and child protection Evidence of training and experience in recruitment and selection, appraisal, service development
Experience Essential
Specialist knowledge/skills/experience in paediatric physiotherapy including Children with additional needs Substantial experience at Band 6 level including all core rotations Knowledge and experience in the use of relevant assessment and treatment approaches and practices, including the use of standardised assessments Evidence of effective multidisciplinary and multi-agency work Knowledge and experience of outcome measures and implanting these to evidence positive change in service users Experience of provision of training internally and externally Experience in receiving supervision, appraisal, performance management Clear understanding of the changing NHS environment Experience in contributing to policy, procedures, guidelines and clinical standards development. Evidence of the ability to supervise or manage Junior Staff/ Assistants/ students, including appraisal, performance management and fieldwork experience. Experience of receiving supervision and safeguarding supervision Recruitment and selection training and experience
Desirable

Skills Essential
Sound knowledge of clinical practice and issues relating to the delivery of Paediatric MSK Physiotherapy Adequate knowledge of clinical pathways to facilitate appropriate referrals Knowledge of a variety of treatment modalities Ability to take a clinical leadership role in the community physiotherapy team.
Desirable
Knowledge and experience of using clinical record keeping systems eg Emis/ Systm1 Experience in service development
Key Attributes Essential
Advanced skills in the assessment and treatment of Paediatric patients with a variety of conditions or complex needs. Sound knowledge of clinical practice and issues relating to the delivery of physiotherapy.

Hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010
