Job Title: Driver Services AssociateJob DescriptionThe Driver Services Associate processes weekly Independent Contractor (IC) settlements and ensures accurate, timely, and compliant financial transactions related to drivers. This role maintains a high level of customer service for both internal and external stakeholders, supports driver-related financial inquiries, and contributes to the overall efficiency of driver services operations. Responsibilities • Process weekly Independent Contractor (IC) settlements using drayage, fuel purchases, recurring chargebacks, and necessary adjustments. • Utilize and update various software applications to maintain and generate IC settlements accurately and on schedule. • Review and validate account balances for accuracy and ensure appropriate inclusion in settlements where required. • Set up and maintain escrow accounts and related recurring IC chargebacks in alignment with established procedures. • Process region-provided adjustments to settlements for driver-related chargebacks or deposits. • Generate deposit batches, conduct manual loads, and issue EFS checks for settlement-related items. • Distribute weekly settlement documents to ICs and approved region personnel in a timely manner. • Process final settlements and escrow releases in accordance with the region’s IC Augmentation Agreement. • Enter adjustments for terminated ICs to ensure escrow accounts are properly closed into accounts payable. • Create new IC vendor records as needed and assign fuel cards or WEX 6.5 cards. • Verify and review IC banking information and conduct pre-notes for direct deposits or WEX 6.5 cards. • Issue EFS checks for HR-requested company driver-related pay items. • Annually review and validate IC chargebacks and deposits in preparation for completion of 1099s. • Provide customer service and support through inbound and outbound calls and emails related to settlements, deposits, and driver pay items. • Assist with other Driver Services functions as needed to support team and departmental goals. Essential Skills • Experience in payroll, accounting, or finance desired but not mandatory. • Ten-key ability and familiarity with Great Plains software desired but not mandatory. • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook. • Proficient data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. • Customer service experience supporting internal and external stakeholders via phone and email. • Ability to manage high volumes of emails, phone calls, and customer inquiries. • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to work under pressure, solve problems, and multitask while maintaining meticulous attention to detail. • Capability to collaborate effectively in a team environment. • Ability to perform job duties with minimal supervision. • Experience or familiarity with accounts payable, invoice processing, and deposit verification. • Comfort working with settlement-related processes and financial documentation. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Prior experience in a corporate or shared services environment is beneficial. • Exposure to driver settlements, claims, or transportation industry processes is an advantage. • Experience handling customer support, claims, or service-related inquiries over the phone and via email. • Familiarity with EFS checks, fuel cards, and WEX 6.5 cards is helpful. • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive working relationships across departments. • Demonstrated ability to learn new software applications and financial systems quickly. Work EnvironmentThis role is fully onsite at a corporate headquarters and is based in an office setting. The Driver Services Associate works from a cubicle within a professional corporate environment, using standard office technologies such as computers, Microsoft Office applications, financial and settlement software, and communication tools including email and phone. The position involves regular interaction with internal teams and drivers throughout the workday in a structured, desk-based setting. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Collierville, TN. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
