Job SummaryYou will serve as a SUPERVISORY QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (SHIPBLDG) in the NON-DESTRUCTIVE TEST DIVISION (CODE 135) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

QualificationsGS-13 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying knowledge of Quality Assurance principles and methods as required to support and provide oversight of naval ship repairs and overhauls. Experience performing work in all areas of the nondestructive testing program such as magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, eddy current, radiography, and ultrasonic testing and inspection. Experience analyzing and interpreting technical specifications, standards, manuals, plans, regulations and preparing technical Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspection procedures. Experience monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of a quality assurance program within the division and develop new procedures for technical/policy changes in order to achieve program effectiveness. Experience planning and executing various types of complex projects and develop innovative solutions to resolve complex issues/problems. Major DutiesYou will improve work processes and utilize manpower and material resources effectively and efficiently.You will assign work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.You will ensure that manpower and material expenditures are directly linked to program/mission objectives within approved budget levels, and positions and/or organizational structures to promote efficiency and economy.You will provide technical oversight and develop performance plans to evaluate work performance of subordinates.You will adhere to EEO policies.You will ensure reasonable equity in determining qualifications, selections, assignments, training, promotions, details, and awards across the branch.You will ensure manpower and material expenditures are directly linked to program/mission objectives within approved budged levels, and positions/organizational structures promote efficiency and economy.You will function as the subject matter expert on Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) program and procedures, providing assessments of the quality of product and services, and program effectiveness.
