About this role
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work site environment: Personal and social adjustment and health (substance abuse, gambling, behaviour disorders). Work setting: Group home. Associations and non profit organizations. Tasks: Appraise clients' needs or eligibility for specific services. Implement life skills workshops. Assess client's relevant skill strengths and development needs. Sign language. Develop, co-ordinate and implement the delivery of specific services within the community. Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses. Implement behaviour management programs. Liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients. Assist clients/guests with special needs. Accompany clients to appointments and social outings. Supervision: 5-10 people. Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year. Support for newcomers and refugees: Offers mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees . Support for youths: Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for youth. Support for Indigenous people: Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers . Supports for visible minorities: Offers mentorship programs that pair members of visible minorities with experienced employees.
