Purpose The DiNitto Career Center at the School of Social Work, University of Texas at Austin, is looking to hire a Career Services Work-Study. This is a great opportunity to expand your knowledge and skills in the dynamic field of social work, while playing an integral role in providing key career services support.
Responsibilities
• Promote career services for the DiNitto Career Center and the School of Social Work through all avenues of communication such as, email blasts, social media content and workshop slide decks
• Update student and alumni opportunities on Instagram
• Design graphics and illustrations for promotional materials
• Create layout for student and alumni e-newsletter and plan content
• Collaborate with various departments in the School of Social Work and with other colleges and departments at the University of Texas at Austin
• Assist in the maintenance of the DCC daily operations
Required Qualifications
• Must have work-study award from financial aid
• Experience in working with various social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn)
• Proficient in using office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, and Mailchimp)
• Knowledge of promotional design/visual communication in digital spaces
• Understanding of design principles
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience and access to Adobe Creative Suite (primarily Illustrator)
• Knowledge of copy-writing for social media
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Interpersonal and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Creativity
• Enrolled student at School of Social Work at UT Austin
Salary Range
• $15.25 hourly/10 hours per week
Working Conditions/Work Shift
• Availability is required between the hours of 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week.
