Job summary This role as a Support Worker at Enable in Dorchester provides an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young individuals with complex support needs. You will be part of a team delivering positive, person-centered outcomes, supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health challenges.
Main duties of the job As a Support Worker, you will need to be enthusiastic, have great people skills, and a positive and proactive approach. You will be supporting individuals with activities of daily living, including social activities, personal care, routines, planning and preparation of meals, and budgeting. Effective communication, promoting independence, and specialized support for positive behavioral approaches are also key aspects of the role.

Elizabeth Court - Dorchester
This is a 16 bed supported living service in the centre of Dorchester close to all local amenities and transport links, supporting individuals with learning disabilities, mental health and complex needs.
Offering supporting living, encouraging and enabling people to live as independently as possible within their own homes and accessing the local community & facilities.

As part of your day to day work you will be offering the following;
Encouraging people to play active roles in the communities in which they live, to encourage independence.
Supporting Activities of daily Living including social activities, personal care, routines, planning and preparation of meals and budgeting.
Communicating - effectively communicate using peoples chosen methods
Engaging - promoting and motivating people we support to enhance their quality of life
Specialising - supporting people who may need positive behavioural support approaches
Recording - keeping accurate records &reporting changes in health or circumstances of service users to management
Team player Working as part of a team, as well as being able to work using your own initiative.
