• Location: AdventHealth Sports Med & Rehab Celebration (400 Celebration Place, Celebration FL, 34747) • Schedule: Weekdays. M/T/W/F 4x10-hour shifts OR the possibility of 5x 8-hour shifts. • Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members. • Monitors patient progress and adjusts treatment plans as necessary. • Discharges patients when maximum benefit has been achieved. • Educates patients and caregivers on strategies to improve communication and swallowing skills. • Documents accurately, completely, and timely using measurable and objective terminology following standards of practice, insurance guidelines and department/hospital policy and procedures. • Provides training and support to therapy aides and other support staff. • Collaborates with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. • Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department. • Practice principles of professional development by maintaining clinical competencies, using best and/or evidence-based practices, and serving as a clinical instructor. • Participates in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities. • Maintains productivity standards as defined by the department, through effective time management and clinical efficiency and adjusts work hours to meet the needs of the patients as required. • Willingly adjusts and adapts to changes in patient census by altering working hours to assist in other centers/programs. • Participates in marketing to physicians/physician practices to build referral relationships. • Supports consumer marketing and public awareness through participation in community events, educational lectures/speaking, and/or other extension of clinical expertise to the community. • Charges patient accurately and timely according to guidelines of the CPT code format and following insurance guidelines. • Performs evaluations and re-evaluations Assessing patients' speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities using standardized tests and clinical observations. • Designs and implements a treatment plan of care utilizing best practice standards and recommended techniques and modalities, insurance guidelines, and patient’s needs. • Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Entry level competency of speech language pathology therapy practice theory principle and applications as defined in competency department policies [Required]
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]
• Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English [Required]
• NMES Training [Preferred]
• LSVT [Preferred]
• Modified Barium Swallow Study Experience [Preferred]
• Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) experience [Preferred]
