Main duties of the job As an Emotional Wellbeing Practitioner, you will be part of the Wiltshire Children's Service, working for the HCRG Care Group. The role involves providing support to children and young people experiencing various issues such as anxiety, gender dysphoria, depression, family problems, and self-harm. The support will be delivered either in-person or remotely based on client needs. The role is part of a wider wellbeing team providing early support with the objective of preventing escalation to more specialized CAMHS services. Your responsibilities include maintaining an active caseload, delivering outcome-based interventions, and effectively communicating with professionals. You will carry out professional assessments and provide therapeutic interventions. The role requires you to maintain confidential case notes and develop links with local services for signposting and onward referrals, while consistently managing risk and responding to child protection concerns when needed.

HCRG Care Group Wiltshire Children and Young Peoples emotional wellbeing service are currently seeking a passionate and experienced children and young person's counsellor to work in the team.You will provide support to children and young people who may be experiencing a range of issues, such as but not limited to anxiety, gender dysphoria, depression, family problems and self- harm. Support will be provided in person and/or remotely depending on the clients needs.
This role is part of the wider wellbeing team who offer early support such as group work and positive activities with the aim of preventing escalation to more specialist CAMHS services.
You will have an active caseload of children and young people within the getting help sphere of support and will use evidence-based therapeutic models.Low intensity, early interventions will be delivered in a range of settings and will include parental and family support.

Main Responsibilities
Hold a case load of clients, delivering outcome-based interventions to support their wellbing Communicate effectively with a wide variety of professionals relevant to the role To deliver therapeutic interventions to children and young people, working independently which may at times mean lone working To undertake professional initial assessments of young people and formulate a plan for their treatment within the guidelines of the service To provide ongoing (up to 10 weeks) and one-off counselling to young people To support alternatives to one-to-one therapeutic work i.e., group work To maintain confidential case notes and records in a timely manner ensuring that they are stored securely using the specified case management systems To support outcome focused reporting of interventions To develop links to other agencies and services and have a good understanding of local services for signposting and onward referrals To positively manage risk and recognise and pro-actively respond to child protection and safeguarding issues escalating and referring as required To undertake regular supervision in line with regulation guidanceA full list of role responsibilities can be found in the attached job description.

Minimum level 4 Counselling Qualification BACP Membership/Registration Assessment, planning, formulation and evaluation of patients psychological difficulties Good understanding of routine outcome measures Application of evidence based psychological therapies relevant to clinical service Knowledge and direct clinical experience of adapting interventions and delivering them to children Experience of delivering and managing clinical risk Previous experience supporting vulnerable Children Ability to work autonomously but recognising the philosophy of effective integrated working Ability to use word, powerpoint, email, excel and clinical systems Car driver and use of car

Qualifications Essential
Minimum level 4 Counselling Qualification, BACP Membership/Registration, experience supporting vulnerable children, ability to work autonomously, and valid car driving license with access to a car.
