Job summary
The post holder will be joining the award winning Camden Learning Disabilities Service as part of an integrated community team. This post is covering 8 months of maternity leave and would be supervised by a senior SLT.
The post holder will work autonomously holding a complex caseload of both Dysphagia and Communication. They will be carrying out assessment and intervention/management plans as well as contributing to risk assessments and clinical pathway meetings.
Main duties of the job
Dysphagia caseload; assessment, diagnosis, management plan and reviews Communication caseload: assessment, diagnosis and intervention planning Training; dysphagia training, person focused training relating to dysphagia or communication Clinical Pathways - to represent SLT on delegated clinical pathways such as dementia or complex health and offer advice and support to MDT colleagues Supervision of Band 3 SLT assistant

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Degree in Speech and Language Therapy NQT competencies passed including dysphagia
Experience Essential
Evidence of working with people who have a learning disabilities Working with people who have dysphagia and LD evidence of assessment and intervention for both dysphagia and communication
Knowledge Essential
Understanding health inequalities of people with learning disabilities and SLT role within this Clinical assessment tools and interventions Clinical pathways - the value and MDT working within this
