Summary of Position:
The CIEE Internship Program Coordinator is responsible for working together with the Program Manager in the planning, organization, and execution of all CIEE internship programs and experiential learning activities in Berlin. The Internship Program Coordinator will be responsible for sourcing local internship host companies and organizations and coordinating student internship placements in a variety of student internship roles. The Internship Program Coordinator may be required to participate in CIEE global projects and activities related to program development and sharing best practices in experiential education as well. This position supports strategic growth of internships and experiential learning in Berlin through the streamlined coordination and improvement of all relevant services.
Primary Responsibilities:
Supports Internship Program Manager with administrative duties and additional activities related to internship, service learning, and experiential learning programs in Berlin Completes administrative tasks for internship and experiential learning programs, including spreadsheet maintenance, financial reporting, email, and data entry Prepares and manages internship contracts as well as the visa information and other required documentation for participants and host organizations under the supervision of the Internship Program Manager Coordinates internship program placement needs, including scheduling and conducting individual participant pre-placement meetings, questionnaires, and company interviews Reviews and assists students with preparing and improving CVs, cover letters, and internship program applications Completes, updates, and distributes all pre-departure materials for internship students Coordinates the scheduling of seminars and professional development workshops, including identifying and coordinating guest speakers, company visits, as well as cultural and professional excursions Focuses on maintaining and expanding network partners for experiential learning opportunities, guest speakers and site visits Distributes and collects student learning contracts as well as mid-term and final evaluations of internship providers and students Creates and maintains a database of Berlin internship and community partners in Salesforce Supports with the documentation of internship site placements to provide content for marketing and experiential learning program materials Accompanies internship student participants to company site visits, networking events, and provides support as during internship orientation and student excursions as needed Coordinates and assists with site visits for university partners as well as internship providers Supports and maintains the highest standards of quality and academic excellence for participants in internship and experiential learning programs Other duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skill Requirements:
Knowledge about the city of Berlin and the professional work environment in Germany – especially start-up sector Experience with American university system Fluent in English Understanding of German, American, and international cultures Comfortable with networking and building business relationships Experience with event coordination in capacity of higher education Interest in experiential education and international education Excellent written and oral communication Strong research skills and close attention to detail Bookkeeping and database management experience Good judgment and the ability to prioritize workflow Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power Point Ability to learn new technologies as applicable to work demands Ability to work autonomously and in small group situations Can-do attitude and a sense of humor

Additional Physical Demands Ability to speak and listen on a telephone Ability to type, and view a computer screen Ability to bend and sort paperwork in a filing cabinet.
