About this role

We are looking for a confident and proactive professional to step into a Facilities Support Assistant role at the University of Oxford. Join our dedicated Facilities Management team and play a key part in delivering exceptional service in the state-of-the-art Schwarzman Building — a major new centre for learning, research, and public engagement.

Location: Radcliffe Observatory Quarter within Schwarzman Centre

Salary: £26,948 - £27,838 per annum, plus shift allowance

Contract: Full-time (36.5 hours per week), Shift work, Permanent

About the Role

This is a dynamic, hands-on role with real variety and purpose. As a Facilities Support Assistant, you will carry out daily operations at the Schwarzman Building - a landmark facility supporting lectures, collaborative research, exhibitions, and high-profile events.

You'll work as part of a team providing cover from 7:00am to 10:30pm, seven days a week, on a rotating shift pattern. We take a fair and flexible approach to scheduling, and a shift allowance will be paid. (please check attached document for the shift pattern)

This role includes basic DIY, event and lecture setups, ensuring compliance with safety procedures, carrying out compliance tasks, and providing excellent customer service.

About You

You’ll bring a professional, approachable manner with proven front-line customer service skills, strong organisation and team support abilities, basic IT proficiency with a willingness to learn new systems, a proactive and adaptable mindset with practical DIY skills, plus excellent attention to detail, reliability, and discretion.

This role does not meet the criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa under the UK Visa & Immigration points-based system. We are therefore unable to offer sponsorship for this role.
