Position Description
POSITION TITLE: Speech-Language Pathologist FLSA: Exempt QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold proper Virginia state licensure by the Board of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology. Preference that the applicant also holds Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. REPORTS TO: Special Education Director and/or Assistant Superintendent for Support Services TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 200 days ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must be licensed by the Virginia Board of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology. Applicants must possess proper skills in order to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech-language disorders in school-aged children. Additionally, applicants must present with adequate written and oral communication skills; have ability to work effectively with school personnel, students and parents; possess effective leadership skills; and demonstrate knowledge of evidence-based practices in the field of speech-language pathology. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Conduct speech-language screenings for identification of need
• Evaluate and diagnose speech-language disorders having an adverse educational impact on student performance
• Provide support in the general education environment through Response to Intervention (RTI)
• Treat identified speech-language disorders via current evidence-based practices
• Data collection and analysis via maintenance of accurate, complete, and correct documentation as required by law, district policy, and/or administrative regulation for caseload management (e.g. Medicaid, Special Education)
• Provide training and education to family/caregivers and other professionals
• Work collaboratively on interdisciplinary teams that make decisions regarding evaluation, eligibility, and services
• Abide by state statutes, school board policies, and regulations
• Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
SALARY RANGE: $53,318.03-$79,977.06 PLEASE NOTE:
