Position Title: Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher Location: Ipswich High School Timeline: August 31, 2026 to Mid December 2026 Status: Full-Time, Temporary, Long-Term Substitute Position Overview Ipswich Public Schools is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher for the start of the 2025-2026 school year. We are looking for an educator who excels at creating an innovative, collaborative, and inclusive co-teaching environment. The ideal candidate will be highly adaptable, passionate about student success, and skilled at addressing a wide range of student learning needs within the secondary classroom. Responsibilities Include:
• Partner with general education teachers to deliver high-quality instruction within an inclusive, co-teaching model.
• Provide targeted academic support, particularly within core secondary content areas such as Mathematics (Algebra and Geometry), Biology, and/or History.
• Implement all components of students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Conduct academic achievement testing to monitor student progress and inform educational planning.
• Maintain excellent oral and written communication with students, families, colleagues, and administration to support student growth.
Qualifications Required:
• Valid MA DESE Licensure in Moderate Special Needs (Secondary Level) and a relevant content area.
• Strong, foundational knowledge of a wide range of learning disabilities and accommodation strategies.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred:
• Demonstrated understanding and instructional experience in high school Math (Algebra/Geometry), Biology, and/or History.
• Direct experience managing and implementing the IEP and Transition Plan process.
• Prior experience administering and interpreting academic achievement assessments.
