About this role
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: o Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. o Minimum 2 years of teaching experience o Master's Degree in counseling is preferred. o Valid Arkansas counseling certificate is preferred. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: o Proficiency in the identification and treatment of mental disorders o Ability to think in terms of population management, addressing a large clientele in the most effective ways possible o Knowledge of evidence-based behavioral assessments and interventions relevant to medical conditions o Ability to make quick and accurate clinical assessments o Care-management skills and knowledge of local resources for outside referrals o Skill in targeted, brief psychotherapy and in running group sessions o Assists in treatment planning for each child o Conducts daily documentation o Improves children's behavior through coping skills and other therapeutic interventions o Conducts group and 1 on 1 counseling sessions o Develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive counseling and guidance program. o Counsel individuals and small groups of students with presenting needs/concerns. o Consult with parents, teachers, administrators, and other relevant individuals to enhance their work with students. o Use an effective process for assisting students and others to use special programs and services. o Present the school comprehensive guidance curriculum. o Assist teachers in the teaching of the school comprehensive guidance curriculum. o Work with students on an individual basis in the solution of personal problems related to home and family relationships, o health and emotional adjustment. o Confer with parents whenever necessary. o Assist in the orientation of new faculty members on school wide behavior program. o Provide in service training in guidance for teachers and student teachers. o Perform other counseling and guidance related duties as assigned.
