About this role

Do you love young children and want to support students and help them gain skills? If so, apply now for a position with the NWAESC for the opportunity to work in a rewarding profession. This is an unique teaching position. NWAESC is accepting applications for an early childhood special education teacher. We serve students ages three through five who have special needs. All applicants must be dependable, organized, possess good time management skills and be available between 8:00 - 4:00 during the school day. Strengths for this position include: knowledge of special education assessments, understanding of due process and an awareness of developmentally appropriate skills for ages three through five and the ability to collaborate with other professionals to meet student needs. Training is provided to support staff and provide them will skills needed to work with students with unique needs. Arkansas Department of Education license required for early childhood special education or willing to obtain an ALP.

Provide free appropriate public education to preschool students by managing a caseload. Candidates must be able to travel and provide services in a variety of locations throughout NWA to serve students ages 3 through five. Conduct assessments to determine students eligibility for speech language services using Arkansas Department of Education guidelines. Maintain confidentiality and detailed documentation on student services. Exhibit excellent communication skills to write evaluation reports and due process as required by state and federal regulations. Support the team by collaborating and effectively communicating with other professionals to support student success. Candidates must be able to multitask and work under pressure. Candidates must have transportation and be willing to travel to multiple sites. Positions available in Benton County.
