• Instruct students in Chemistry using HQIM and related classes in a high school setting.
• Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities.
• Create a positive educational climate for students.
• Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.
• Modify Tier I instructional material accordingly throughout the year
• Maintain electronic grade books.
• Utilize various curriculum resources.
• Integrate curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of students
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Observe and evaluate student's performance
• Manage student behaviour in the classroom by invoking approved disciplinary procedures
• Participate in department common planning time
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree, Masters Preferred
• Possess a MA teaching license, including SEI endorsement
• Knowledge of current teaching methods; educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles
• Ability to think critically, problem-solve, backwards plan, analyze; use data and prioritize the needs of the student
• Teaching experience with a proven track record of producing dramatic achievement gains is ideal
• Unwavering belief that all students can achieve at high levels and strong commitment to do whatever it takes for all our students to be college-ready
