Part-Time Piano Accompanist Bixby Public Schools - Choir Reports To: Fine Arts Coordinator Position Type: Part-Time Position Summary The Part-Time Piano Accompanist supports the middle school and high school vocal music programs through collaborative piano performance and rehearsal accompaniment. This position requires a flexible, dependable musician who can work with student ensembles across two campus sites and assist in preparing students for performances, contests, and competitions. Primary Responsibilities
• Accompany choirs, soloists, and ensembles during rehearsals and performances
• Travel between the middle school and high school campuses as needed
• Provide piano accompaniment for:
• Concerts
• Daily or sectional rehearsals
• OSSAA contests
• Show choir competitions and performances
• Collaborate closely with choir directors to support instructional goals and performance preparation
• Assist students with musical accuracy, tempo, entrances, and stylistic interpretation during rehearsals
• Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and preparedness for all rehearsals and events

Qualifications
• Proficient piano performance skills with strong sight-reading ability
• Ability to confidently read and interpret vocal and choral scores
• Experience accompanying soloists and ensembles preferred
• Strong collaborative and communication skills
• Ability to adapt quickly during rehearsals and live performances
• Previous experience working with school-aged musicians preferred
Schedule Expectations This is a part-time position with a schedule that varies based on rehearsals, performances, competitions, and seasonal concert demands. Some evening and occasional weekend commitments are required. Preferred Characteristics
