About this role
POSITION SUMMARY The Music Teacher delivers K–5 music instruction in alignment with the Colorado Academic Standards for Music. The teacher cultivates musical literacy, vocal and instrumental skills. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Plan and deliver music lessons aligned to all four CAS Music strands: Perform, Create, Respond, and Connect.
• Differentiate instruction across K–5 grade levels to meet students' developmental and linguistic needs.
• Teach rhythm, melody, harmony, form, and notation using age-appropriate methods and classroom instruments.
• Prepare and direct students in school performances and community events.
• Assess student progress using formative and summative methods; use data to guide instruction.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to support cross-curricular learning.
• Collaborate with other specials teachers during PLCs and PD.
• Communicate with families regarding student growth and school events.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Valid Colorado CDE teaching license with Music (K–12) or Elementary Education endorsement.
• Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field.
• Knowledge of Colorado Academic Standards for Music.
