Iowa Valley is seeking an energetic individual interested in coaching JH Girls wrestling for the 2026-2027 school year. A JH Girls Wrestling Coach instructs athletes in fundamental skills and strategies, develops safe and effective training programs, manages team logistics like transportation and equipment, and fosters sportsmanship and character development. The coach is responsible for communication with parents and administration, maintaining records, adhering to school policies, ensuring athlete welfare and eligibility, and serves as a positive role model.
Key Responsibilities
• Coaching & Instruction:
• Teach fundamental skills, techniques, and strategies of wrestling.
• Develop and implement age-appropriate drills, conditioning, and training programs.
• Coach athletes during practices and competitions, providing individual and team feedback.
• Team Management & Logistics:
• Organize and supervise practices and competitions.
• Plan and coordinate transportation for athletic events.
• Ensure proper equipment and uniform maintenance and inventory.
• Supervise athletes' conduct and safety, including in locker rooms.
• Communication & Administration:
• Communicate regularly with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding events and performance.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, performance, and athlete eligibility.
• Collaborate with the athletic director and other school staff.
• Safety & Character Development:
• Enforce safety protocols and ensure athlete welfare during all activities.
• Promote sportsmanship, discipline, self-confidence, and character development in student-athletes.
• Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes.
• Professional Development:
• Stay updated on new techniques and theories in wrestling through clinics and observations.
