About this role

A HS Girls Wrestling Coach is the Head Coach in teaching wrestling techniques, managing practices and equipment, supervising student-athletes, ensuring safety and eligibility, and promoting good sportsmanship and a positive athletic environment. Duties also include communicating with parents, school officials, and the community, as well as following all district and state regulations for high school athletics.

Key Responsibilities

• Instruction and Training: Teach wrestling techniques, rules, and strategies, and help athletes develop their skills.

• Practice and Game Management: Plan and set up practice and contest activities, organize practice schedules, and observe athletes to assess their development.

• Equipment and Facility Maintenance: Ensure proper care, maintenance, and storage of wrestling equipment, uniforms, and facilities.

• Student Supervision: Provide appropriate supervision for student-athletes during practices, contests, and in locker rooms.

• Safety and Health: Maintain a safe environment, monitor student-athlete health, and follow established procedures for injuries.

• Eligibility and Conduct: Ensure athletes meet academic and behavioral requirements and enforce discipline policies.

• Communication and Teamwork: Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, school administrators, and the community.

• Program Support: Lead the Assistant Coach in all other duties as assigned, including special events and budget management.
