Overview The Cape Cod Collaborative is an educational organization providing a full range of instructional and support services to the students, parents and public school staff of our 20 member districts, whose needs are best addressed through a multi-district effort. Our student services include: alternative education programs for low incident, special needs populations; programs for the multi-handicapped; therapy and services for students requiring specialized support; and a full range of transportation services for both the special needs and general education population. We coordinate collegial sharing opportunities for various professional groups, conduct executive searches and offer a wide range of professional development and training opportunities for the educators and support personnel of our member districts. #WeAreOneCollaborative Job Description We are seeking Paraprofessionals for the STAR program, a Collaborative public day school in Osterville. Experience with students with disabilities and / or behavioral challenges is preferred. The Collaborative supports students with significant learning challenges by supporting student strengths and building independence.
The STAR Program in Osterville is a special needs setting supporting students kindergarten through age 21 with significant learning, communication, and behavioral challenges. Performance Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
• Work with students on academics, social skills, life skills, activities of daily living, and vocational tasks
• Ability to work in a team format
• Ability to physically handle interventions with students and / or lifting, students with significant needs;Ability to work with students with behavioral challenges
• Demonstration of positive communication skills
