About this role
Johnson Elementary School- Nahant (PreK-6) Johnson Elementary School is seeking a caring, collaborative, and student-centered Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year in a part-time capacity. The successful candidate will work closely with special education staff, classroom teachers, related service providers, and families to support students' access to learning and participation in our supportive school environment. Responsibilities Include:
• Provide occupational therapy services to students as outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Support students in developing fine motor, sensory, self-regulation, and functional school skills
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to implement strategies and accommodations within the classroom setting
• Participate in IEP meetings, consultations, and progress reporting
• Maintain appropriate documentation and compliance with state and federal special education regulations
• Work as part of a collaborative and inclusive student support team
Qualifications:
• Massachusetts licensure as an Occupational Therapist OR Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant required
• Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
• Knowledge of special education processes and school-based therapy practices
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Commitment to inclusive practices and student-centered support
Position Details:
• Part-time position

• Ongoing school-year position following the academic calendar
