• Texas teaching certificate
• Principal or Mid-Management certificate
Experience
• Three years of experience as a principal in a traditional district/charter school
• Five years of teaching experience in a traditional district/charter school
• Experience coaching and developing school leaders to enhance their leadership effectiveness
• Experience in developing and presenting professional development
Special Knowledge and Skills
• Broad-based knowledge of school leadership and administration
• Exemplary written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certified AEL and T-TESS Training of Trainers Certification
• Experience as a district-level leader
• Experience in development and delivery of online instruction
Major Responsibilities: Primary Program Liaison/Contact
• Serve as a point of contact for advanced certification program completers seeking completion of certification.
• Provide the necessary support to prospective program candidates through personal communications, information sessions, and related events.
• Anticipate and address field-based issues with a high degree of responsiveness and follow- through.
• Conduct field supervision and provide candidate support through regular observation visits, with constructive and relevant feedback on leadership and management competencies.
• Maintain accurate documentation and upload field observation data in the Region 4 Inspire Texas database.
• Communicate effectively to ensure program and school staff are fully aware and supportive of program components and certification expectations.
• Maintain current knowledge of state certification regulations and ensure program compliance with such.
• Maintain ongoing communication
Program Oversight
• Execute the program approval of certificates in compliance with state regulations and program policy.
• Deliver advanced certification coursework, and perform timely grading and feedback to program candidates.
• Communicate program expectations, updates, and changes with advanced certification instructors.
Program Expansion
• Design and develop proposals to TEA for new areas of certification as needed for expansion of program services.
• Identify opportunities for collaboration with other entities to provide high quality educator preparation programs throughout the state of Texas.
• Market and promote the Region 4 Alternative Certification Program throughout the state.
Data Collection and Reporting
• Maintain the Region 4 Education Service Center status, under the state accountability system for educator preparation programs, as “Accredited” through data reporting and compliance with program state and federal requirements.
• Collect program data, maintain accuracy of information, and submit data reports as needed by the Educator Development Department Director, state and federal agencies in support of accountability measures.
Administrative Support
• Assist the Managing Director of Leadership Initiatives with the budget development and management.
• Support the Managing Director of Leadership Initiatives in ensuring annual enrollments and candidate/placement targets are met.
Supervision/Personnel Management None Physical Demands/Environmental Factors/Mental Demands: Frequent use of standard office equipment; prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting; repetitive hand motions (keyboarding and use of mouse); occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 20 pounds); may work prolonged and irregular hours; occasional statewide travel; work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under pressure.
